August is the best month of summer
June is hectic, what with all those weddings and graduations. July is loud — firecrackers, family reunions — and the humidity is stifling.
But August, Ahh, August! For some it is the most perfect month of the summer. It's high season for fruits and veggies. Many parts of the country it is a nice break from the thick, sweltering days of July and the rainy days of June. Fewer rainy days means more sunshine, which gives us a good dose of Vitamin D — builder of strong bones and teeth and fabulous hair. Not to mention Good Moods.
It is as if by Natures decree, that We are required to “take it easy” (National Lazy Day is Aug. 10. National Relaxation Day is Aug. 15.) Go ahead and enjoy a box of Crayon’s or colored pencils (check out the new adult coloring books).
Athletes will be going for their personal best. You can make a splash in the pool and be the star, speaking of Stars. August in the sky are Stars galore as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of man’s walk on the moon
